#90: The younger brother must go to prison

“Pack your things. We are going to the airport. Now!” John says to his fiancee when he enters their apartment.
“What?…Why?”
“Please, trust me. We have to leave the country. I will tell you more in the taxi. It is waiting downstairs.”
She knows him well. He is level-headed. He doesn’t make rush decisions. She takes a suitcase and fills it with her things.
“Pack the most important things. Don’t forget your passport,” he says and he fills a big suitcase too.
They get into the waiting taxi in less than a quarter of an hour. Just when they are about 200 meters from their house, a big black car arrives there.
“We are lucky,” he says as he notices the car. “Do you see the black car? They are there for me.”
She looks back. She becomes more nervous. She knows that car. It is his father’s.
“What have you done? Why are they there for you?”
“I haven’t done anything but my older brother has. He would go to prison. As per family tradition I have to admit to the crime and go to prison instead of him. We are only safe in another country.”
Their taxi turns onto the highway that takes them to the airport.
