#89: Unhappy wife becomes a prisoner

It is late in the evening and Jane is very tired. She is tired for today and she is tired of her life. She is fed up with her life. She is not a happy wife and mother. She is unhappy with her husband and she is unhappy with her children. She hates cleaning the house. She hates washing up. She hates sleeping with her husband. She hates repeating the same thing from morning till evening. She wants a change. If her life doesn’t change very soon, she will go mad. She wants to talk to her husband about this when he comes home from work today.
Just then, her husband parks the car in the garage and runs into the house.
“I think I have killed someone. It was an accident,” he says. He takes Jane’s hand and pulls her to the car. The car is damaged and there is blood on it.
“What have you done? Hit and run?” she asks and frees her hand from his.
“Honey. I didn’t want to get into trouble. I don’t want to go to prison,” he says and starts crying.
“Has anybody seen you?”
“I don’t think so. There was no-one else there and I drove away as fast as I could.”
“Where did it happen?”
“On the way from work near the farm with the cows. He was on a bicycle. He didn’t have lights. He should have had lights.”
She takes the car keys from her husband’s pocket and sits into the car.
“I hope you will visit me in prison sometimes,” she says and drives to the place where the accident happened.
