#68: Superpower against the death penalty

Larry is sitting in a room with a big glass wall. The glass wall is between the room and another room. There is a man in the other room. He is sitting in a wooden chair. The man is waiting for his death. When electricity runs through his body, he will die. Larry is his lawyer. The man is a serious criminal. He killed many people. Larry is here to help him.
Everyone is watching a big clock on the wall. It is time to kill the man. An officer from the prison pushes a button. The lights go out and nothing happens to the criminal. The officer pushes the button again. The lights come back. The man in the chair is still alive. Nothing happened to him. The electricity did not run through his body. The officer pushes the button again. The lights go out again. He pushes the button again. The lights come back. The criminal is still alive. Larry tells the officer he mustn’t push the button again. Larry knows the law. He knows that if the electricity is not working when there is a man in the electric chair, they have to let the man live for another year.
Larry goes to another room. After ten minutes the criminal enters the room and says: “I don’t know how you did it but I am sure you did it.”
Larry only smiles and says: “This gives us another year. Do you remember what I told you? I always win.”
Only Larry knows about his superpower: he can stop electricity. And he is against the death penalty. He will help this person again in one year.
