#84: The caveman dream

“I have had a strange dream.” says Carl to his friend. “It was like time travel. I was in the stone-age. It was snowing but I wasn’t cold. I had fire in my cave. I was eating meat at the fire in my cave when I saw someone standing at the entrance. I saw only a shadow. I picked up my knife and waited for the shadow to attack me. But it didn’t. It got on its fours and started crawling toward me. When the shadow came closer I saw it was a woman. She had a dirty face. We didn’t speak. She came closer to me and pointed at the fire. I thought she wanted some fire so I picked up a piece of burning wood. She kept pointing at the fire. She wanted some meat. I went toward her with the knife in one hand and the fire in the other. She moved back to the entrance. She went out into the snow and stopped about five meters from my cave. I went out and checked if she was alone. There were no other footsteps in the fresh snow. I went back to the cave and took out a piece of meat from the fire. It was ready. I put it on a stick and gave it to her. I saw her eat it. When she finished she smiled at me. She went out into the snow and washed her face. She came back. She was smiling. She had a lovely face and she had a lovely smile. She became my girlfriend.”
Carl’s friend starts to laugh. “Man, you really need a girlfriend!” he says.
“Yes, I do. But you know what is the strangest thing in the story? I had almost nothing, but I felt rich. I felt rich and powerful. Now, I have a big house, a big car. I can buy anything I need. And yet, I feel women do’t want to date me because I am poor.”
