#76: Hungry for blood

“Times are very hard,” a man starts his speech in his 500-years-old house. His 200 guests are from all over the country. “The world has been a peaceful place for over fifty years. It is much harder to start conflicts and wars. People don’t want to kill each other anymore. They just sit at home and play silly computer games. No more wars, no more killing, no more blood. While this is good for the people, it is terrible for our nation. We are hungry! We have to be satisfied with petty jobs like being a nurse or paramedic to get anywhere near fresh human blood. There are more people than ever and we are starving more than ever. This is complete nonsense. This has to change. I invite everybody here to make a plan to end this madness. Make our nation great again! We want blood!”
He sits down. It is dead quiet in the room. Someone starts clapping. Soon, others follow. Soon, the whole building is loud with the sound of clapping and shouting. They repeat it again and again: ‘We want blood! Make our nation great again!…’
