#37: Recycled food

“Put the returned meat into this pot and the potatoes into this one and the rice into this one,” says the owner of the restaurant to Joe, the new waiter. Joe doesn’t like the idea of giving returned food to customers.
“Yes, sir!” Joe says because he needs the job. All day, he collects the meat, the potatoes and the rice into their own pots.
“I am hungry,” the boss says at around six and asks Joe to bring him some food to eat.
Joe takes out some food from the pots with used food. He makes it look new and puts it on a plate. He brings it to his boss. Joe leaves the table but in about ten seconds he hears his boss shouting: “What is this?”
Joe knows the boss is shouting at him and goes to his table. His boss is pointing at the plate.
“It is the food you wanted me to collect in pots and then give it to people,” Joe says.
He knows he has just lost his job and takes off his uniform jacket.
“I never said we will give it to people,” the boss says and starts smiling. “Now, put your jacket back. You are not going anywhere. This was a test and you passed.”
He stands up and leaves the plate on the table. “Clean it up,” he says with a smile.
Everybody claps for Joe, including the boss.
