#6: Fox goes to the casino

“Do you understand what you have to do?”
John knows what he has to do. “Yes. I will take your money to the casino. I will buy some chips. After an hour, I will sell back the chips. You have to pay taxes on the money, but it will be clean money which you can take to the bank. I will get 2000 for my work.”
“Correct. Here is the money.”
The drug boss gives a big bag of money to John. John puts the money in his car.
In the casino, he buys chips for all the money. He sits down at the bar and buys himself a drink. As he waits, he watches the players. Many of them lose, but some of them win a lot of money. John looks at his chips. ‘What if I can make more money? I can risk 2000. That is my money,’ he thinks. He takes the chips and sits down at the roulette. In ten minutes he loses his 2000. “I am so close to get lucky,” he says and places 10 on the zero. He doesn’t win. He keeps betting on the zero. ‘I will win now,’ he says with the last chip in his pocket. He takes it out and places it on the zero. The ball falls on the number next to zero. John leaves the casino without any money and without the chips. His head is heavy from the drinks and from the loss. He doesn’t know where he is going. One thing he knows: he cannot go back to the drug boss.
