Jane looks out of the window. She can see four men in front of the house sleeping. They are drunk. They are her kidnappers. They brought her to this house three days ago. They are sleeping at the open fire. “Now or never,” she says to herself. She puts on more clothes and opens the door. The kidnappers never lock the door because they are always around, and one of them watches her room. But not today. She walks out of the house. She moves slowly not to wake the men up. When she is about a hundred meters from the house, she starts running towards the city. She comes to a road. She walks in the woods following the road. Suddenly, she can see a police car. She runs out to the road and stops it.
“Good evening officer. Can you take me to the city, please?”
“I am sorry, I am not a taxi driver. What are you doing here in the middle of the night anyway?”
She doesn’t want to say why she is here. Instead, she punches the officer in the nose. His nose starts bleeding. She lies down on the ground with her hands behind her back. He takes the handcuffs and puts them on her wrists. They hurt, but she is smiling. She gets up and sits into the police car. She is happy to be on her way to the city.
